what to grow in the fall

If i want to grow anything here at my home (Largo, FL), i have to do it in pots, since i live in an apartment.

My apartment building faces North. I live downstairs. There is a walkway in front of my building. The upstairs walkway casts a shadow on my walkway, which is where i would plan for my plants to be. I don't plan to grow anything indoors, as i don't intend to keep any blinds open (for light) while i'm at work all day. My pots would be on the shaded walkway, like i said.
